How to Be Organised? Tips to Get Organised

Author: Daniel J. Hill (D-Funkdafied)
Disorganisation is something you should really avoid throughout your whole life. But, the most important times to be organised are when you really need to relieve a lot of stress, save time and to feel better. Being well-organised is an essential quality to have during your exam period in school and further education. Your adult life will also need to be well-organised especially if you\'re an employee or an entrepreneur that actually wants to make an honest living and become successful. Or, maybe you just want to be organised for general and personal reasons. Either way, this article will help you understand the meanings of being well-organised and how to achieve it, CORRECTLY.
1.      Make sure you stay focused and keep your eye on the clock. Especially when it comes to schedules, deadlines and appointments. Most people seem to get lost by focusing on something else and then they forget and lose track of time. This is what causes people to be late when they need to be certain places.
2.      Don\'t do too many things at once unless you actually are good at 'multi-tasking'.Think about what tasks you need to tackle first and check your to-do list (if you haven\'t a to-do list then I suggest working on it). If you go overboard by trying to get tasks done in one go. You will end up rushing your duties, and then you will not have a top-quality outcome.

3.      Analyse your space. Look around your living area, office, bedroom or even garage and evaluate all the important junk that needs to be organised. Start cleaning up the disorganised mess, never leave it there and hope it will just go away on its own. Have you ever lost something you need and could never find it? General tidying up may uncover some lost items and information that you are surprised to actually find.
4.      What makes you so disorganised? Think about the different reasons you may not be well-organised and understand why. Is it because you have a lack of interest in what needs to be done, or is it laziness, lack of time, or do you see no point at all? You will need to give yourself strength to overcome your bad habits.
5.      Understand the outcome and push yourself. What do I mean by 'understand the outcome'? The meaning of this is to actually plan ahead which will help you to recognise how good you will feel overtime when becoming organised. You will feel less stressed, aggravated and annoyed, for a start. Also, you may be able to get things done on a tight schedule so you can do other tasks or give yourself free time in the long run.

6.      Recap your to-do list. Like I said before, if you haven\'t got a to-do list then I suggest you start creating one and thanks to good ole\' technology, you don\'t have to use a physical notepad. Just write down your to-do list on your computer and you can easily remove the task you have completed. Keep in touch with your to-do list, you need to check it every day to see what you need to do next. Instead of just playing on the Xbox or PlayStation, look at your list and see what NEEDS TO BE DONE.
7.      Stay motivated. Even when you get into the habit of being more organised and prepared, you will most likely have one of those days where you really can\'t be bothered, I know because I occasionally feel the same way. But that\'s okay as long as you don\'t continue like it. Just don\'t go overboard otherwise you will feel drained. I hope this has helped! Here is another article regarding Self-Motivation.

The Top 5 Classic Self-Help Books

By: John Rivera

Every year there are dozens of self-help books published in the US. Some are read and soon forgotten and eventually go out of print while others go on to become classics. A classic book is a book accepted as being exemplary or noteworthy and has stood the test of time. This is a list of what I consider to be the best self-help book classics.

5. It Works by RHJ

Though not as well-known as the other books on this list, Roy Herbert Jarrett known as R. H. J. authored the little book entitled "IT Works!" published in 1926. "IT Works!" outlined a simple, workable procedure for obtaining one's heart's desires by focus of thought power. The simple, powerful procedure to obtain whatsoever one desires, by right thinking, has brought happiness and fulfillment to many as they learned how to focus their thoughts. Virtually all books on goal setting and mind control published since "It Works!" have followed the same basic ideas. And nothing exceeds imitation for proof of validity!

4. The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason

The Richest Man in Babylon is a book by George Samuel Clason which gives financial advice through a collection of parables set in ancient Babylon. Through their experiences in business and managing household finance, the characters in the parables learn simple lessons in financial wisdom. Originally, a series of separate informational pamphlets distributed by banks and insurance companies, the pamphlets were bound together and published in book form in 1926. The most important idea in the book is this: "A part of all you earn is yours to keep" meaning you should save a tenth of all you make to invest, doing so will make you wealthy. Modern writers have adopted this idea most notably David L. Bach best known for his Automatic Millionaire Series of motivational financial books.

3. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles

The Science of Getting Rich is a book written by the New Thought Movement writer Wallace D. Wattles and published in 1910 by the Elizabeth Towne Company. The book is still in print after 100 years. It was a major inspiration for Rhonda Byrne's bestselling book and film The Secret (2006). According to USA Today, the text is "divided into 17 short, straight-to-the-point chapters that explain how to overcome mental barriers, and how creation, not competition, is the hidden key to wealth attraction." The Science of Getting Rich preceded similar financial success books such as The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel (1912) and Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill (1937). In the 100 years since its publication, it has gone through many editions, and remains in print from more than one publisher.

2. The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale

Not a book but a recording of a weekly pep talk given to Nightingales sales force, he owned an insurance agency at the time, The Strangest Secret, earned the first Gold Record for the spoken word, with sales exceeding 1 million copies. Nightingale, known as the 'dean of personal development,' reveals how he discovered and lived the secret to success. Nightingale partnered with Vic Conant to market the recording due to popular demand for it and is also credited with starting the self-help/personal development field.

1. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

Considered by many to be the greatest self-help book ever published, Hill’s Think and Grow Rich first published in 1937, is the end product of two decades of research conducted by Napoleon Hill. His research started when Andrew Carnegie (the steel tycoon who was then the richest man on earth) gave him the assignment of organizing a Philosophy of Personal Achievement. Hill, who was a poor journalist, armed with just an introductory letter from Carnegie, set out to interview over five hundred successful people including Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, John D. Rockefeller, George Eastman, William Wrigley Jr. and Charles M. Schwab. Hill then revealed the priceless wisdom of his research in the form of the thirteen steps to success (in Think and Grow Rich) and the seventeen principles of success (in courses and lectures he conducted).

John Rivera is a professional blogger having been blogging since blogging was in its infancy. John has always had an insatiable curiosity about the world ever since he can remember. Always asking why, John was attracted to self-help books from an early age become a voracious reader in the process. He currently blog about self-help books at The Self-help Books Guide. He has a degree in Philosophy.

How To Overcome Procrastination

Author: Diana Samalot
Procrastination is unfortunately something that a lot of us suffer from regularly, whether it\'s just an occasional
‘put off ‘til tomorrow\' or a recurrent lack of drive and motivation. Procrastination can often hold us back from what we really want in life, and unfortunately, it\'s something that can crop up at any time of life, no matter who you are. A lot of people often assume that procrastination is simply being lazy, but this isn\'t always the case. Often, feelings of tiredness, hopelessness, panic or even depression can cause us to put things off and avoid reality completely.

Procrastination is a trap, and once we\'ve fallen in it can be very difficult to get back out, so why do we do it? Well for many people, procrastination is simply a way of coping with emotions and physical symptoms that often come with depression, often caused by panic. The unfortunate truth is that often, a ‘snowballing\' effect can happen, you may be stressed and under pressure at work, then causing you to panic, which may then trigger depression which in turn can make thing very difficult for you to do. However it happened, it\'s important you get out of it, otherwise you may find that nothing will ever get done because you\'re too miserable and negative to bring yourself to do it.

There are 5 main ‘style\'s of procrastination, you may feel that you fall under one mains style, or a mixture.

  • Organization and keeping track of things is very difficult
  • You fear people disapprove of you, or fear disapproval itself
  • Important tasks seem futile, and so overwhelming it feels stupid to even attempt them
  • Hostile feelings towards someone, and punishing them by putting things off
  • Routines and Schedules cause you to feel rebellious

These styles of procrastination can often also overlap in one of four different themes: Self Doubt, Discomfort Dodging, Guilt Driven and Habitual. Self Doubt is people who feel that there are rigid standards about how certain things need to be done and often fear they will fail, they often second guess themselves and will delay taking action against procrastinating. Discomfort dodging is when a person will avoid activities that will cause them anxiety, discomfort or even distress, however, often by dodging the activity, feelings and tension don\'t go away, and instead mount due to the avoidance. Guilt driven people often feel extreme guilt when tasks go done, but instead of acting on their guilt and working, they instead procrastinate, avoiding the issue and the guilt completely. And finally, Habitual people are people who have found procrastination to be an automatic response within their lives, they have put things off so often, that they feel it is just a part of them now, and there is nothing they can do to change it.

But there are things you can do to change it, and get out of your procrastination cycle once and for all. The first thing is a simple idea, but it works all the same – make a list! It sounds ridiculous, but it does actually work. Just go to your local stationary store and get yourself a large notebook, and make lists and plans for yourself to stick to, prioritize everything on your list in order of importance, and allocate times for these tasks to be done (1 hour, 2 hours etc). The key to battling procrastination is organization, by allocating specific times; you\'re ensuring that you have enough time to do everything and get it done! If a task is particularly big, then split it up into manageable time slots, making sure that progress is steady, and you\'re not giving yourself too much to do.

However, you also need to create some time for yourself, or ‘reward time\'. Reward time gives you an incentive to get things done, because you know once it\'s done you can have a break and reward yourself for your hard work. Procrastination is a tough mountain to climb, but once you reach the top you\'re free to reap the rewards of an organized, healthy and happy lifestyle, as well as the true relief and satisfaction that comes with having nothing weighing you down!

Author: Sarah paul
Your child\'s education is probably the most important thing he will receive from you as parents. His education is what will help your child throughout his life and help make something of himself so that he is able to stand on his own two feet. Maintaining a record of his education will help you keep track of all the educational institutes he has attended, his grades, achievements so far, extracurricular activities and his strengths and weaknesses.

Education Tracking:
Tracking your child\'s education is a very easy task. You need to take into account the educational institutes your child has attended, his grades, his accomplishments, extracurricular activities he has been a part of, his social life, strengths and weaknesses, hobbies and his dreams and aspirations. You can make separate sections for these since these are a lot of areas but all relevant to your child\'s education and progress.
You are the best judge of what information is required to best track your child\'s educational accomplishments, therefore you can tailor this according to your specifications. Be sure to keep all the medals and certificates your child gets throughout the course of his educational years.

Benefits of Tracking your Child\'s Education:
There are a lot of benefits that you will get by tracking your child\'s education, and these benefits are mentioned below:
  • You will have a complete list of every relevant information related to your child\'s education
  • You will know how your child is progressing through his educational years
  • It will give you an opportunity to work on his weaknesses
  • It will help you discover what your child is good at, and what he wants out of life
  • You will be able to track his grades and see how well he is doing
  • You will know how well he is doing outside of the classroom setting
  • You will be able to help your child out more if you know his progress
  • There will be a higher chance of your child\'s performance increasing significantly with respect to the previous year
  • Your child will start feeling more at ease and will be more focused
  • Your child will start having fun and will be less confused
  • You will have time to speak to him and help him more and more about what he wants to do in life
It is important to note that as parents you have to be very vigilant regarding how your child performs throughout his school and college life. If he is lagging anywhere, there might be a reason to it and you can instantly rectify it once you get to know the real reason behind the problem.
The benefits of keeping track of your child\'s education are tremendous. It is up to you how you want to accomplish this task keeping in mind your child\'s requirements and needs; making sure you are there for every aspect of it is what truly counts.

Finding Your Self Worth

Home  Self-Improvement  Success
By: Linda Cattelan

Image courtesy of [contributor name] / FreeDigitalPhotos.net
Do you measure your personal self worth based on what others think of you? Do you work really hard to make others like or approve of you? Do you find it hard to say no to people believing that others’ priorities are more important than your own? Do you lack confidence? If you answered yes to most of these questions you may have a low opinion of yourself or perhaps you just don’t consider yourself worthy. Enhancing self image will help build your confidence and your personal self worth.

5 ways to enhance your personal self worth:

1. Pay Attention to Your Posture and Your Body Language – How you hold your physical body has an impact on how others see you and on how you personally feel. Similarly, how you feel often determines your body language and your outward behavior. The two go hand in hand – body language impacting feelings and feelings impacting body language. A simple solution is to check your body language and especially your posture. Stand tall with your head held high, shoulders squared, back straight and legs solid and perfectly aligned; you will feel more in control and more self-assured. Remember the phrase "chin up"? When you hold your chin up it is much easier to stay in a positive, more optimistic mood. Make sure you are outwardly projecting a strong physical presence. Over time what you feel inwardly will begin to match your outward posture and body language.

2. Filter Your Self Talk – What is the story you are telling yourself in your thoughts or out loud in the words you choose? Are you beating yourself up with your own language? Our unconscious mind is just like a robot and takes everything we say literally and personally. Filter your thoughts and filter your words. Catch yourself when you start to spiral into negative thinking or negative language. Wear an elastic band on one of your wrists and snap it as soon as you think or say something that is negative. It will interrupt your negative thinking/speech pattern. When you catch yourself reword the negative thought or message into a positive thought or message. Here’s what that might sound like: "I’m an idiot I can’t believe I just did that", "stop/delete", "I could have done a better job on that project. I will use the feedback to do better next time around." No one is perfect. Recognize that there is no failure only feedback. Learn from your mistakes and then move on.

3. Develop Your Own Measuring Stick – Know what’s important to you and take time to honor what you value most. Don’t let others influence your view of success and/or happiness. Take time out to recognize your accomplishments no matter how big or small. Keep track of your accomplishments and proud moments in a journal. If you maintain a personal journal or even a work journal, start writing in the journal from back to front keeping track of all the little and big things that happen every day that validate your successes and accomplishments. It could be as simple as "I contributed a valid point in a business meeting today" or "Two people gave me positive feedback on that sales proposal I developed". The more you fill up your proud moments pages the more you have to feel good about when you reread what you wrote. You will also begin to develop some supporting documentation for your strengths and accomplishments.

4. Know Your Worth – Here’s a simple exercise you can do to gain a richer perspective on how you are perceived by others. Start by taking a close look at yourself and create an inventory of your unique characteristics and strengths. Who are you? What sets you apart from others? What attributes do you have that you might have taken for granted or not previously recognized? Include your personality traits, passions, experiences or areas of expertise. Then enlist the assistance of others to help you understand how you are perceived by others. Ask friends, colleagues, clients, suppliers, family to share with you what they see as your core characteristics. Ask as many people as you can within the next couple of weeks to describe you in four to six words. Once you get all the feedback, look for patterns. Choose six to eight of these essence words or phrases that really represent who you are. Notice any differences or similarities between your list and the list others came up with. What you learn about how the world sees you can be very empowering.

5. Create a Vision for the Future – Develop a vision board. Focus on what you want: your goals, aspirations and your dreams. Clip images, pictures and words of what you wish to create for yourself and pin or paste them to a corkboard. Then take a step towards something you really want by taking some action, no matter how small a step it is.
You are much more than you think you are. Stand tall, look for evidence of proud moments and accomplishments and let that be an acknowledgement of how great you really are. Determine your own measuring stick for success not what everyone else tells you it should be. Create a compelling positive vision of your future and then confidently move forward.

History Of Chocolate Recipes To Keep You Warm

Image courtesy of [stockimages] / FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Author: Pethum
There is nothing else that will surely perk you up on a cold and rainy day than a cup of hot and creamy chocolate drink. Thanks to the Aztecs who discovered and gave us this wonderful gift of sweet delicacies that we just love! The Aztecs, during the earlier times of chocolate history, believed that consuming large amounts of chocolate would bring one's health and power. That is why they did not only call it in "energy drink" but a very strongly defined "divine drink".

Chocolate Drink Shops Growing Like Mushrooms

And I believe this still holds true until today. No wonder hot chocolate recipes have popped up everywhere, every chocolate shop claiming to have the best chocolate drink ever! But that is highly expected since they must be chocolates experts to be putting up a chocolate shop, in the first place! Home made hot chocolates are most intriguing, though. For how do you turn a simple chocolate drink into something sumptuous, tempting and tantalizing?

Another natural chemical of chocolates that is responsible for that rushing feeling and tingly sensation of homey goodness began many years ago just like a cup of chocolate drink. They started out liquid, would you believe? Now, here are some hot chocolate drink recipes that you may want to try at home for you and your loved ones to enjoy!

However, let us clarify something first. You must know that there is a very huge difference in ordering for hot chocolate and hot cocoa in your favourite local chocolate shops. The chocolate you drink is made out of pure chocolate compound while the cocoa drink you order is prepared using cocoa powder and mixing it with water. An expert would know right away even if blindfolded which drink is served to him, by merely smelling. Indulge in these recipes below and you will surely be delighted and satisfied with the warm and fulfilling sensation these concoctions will give you!

Warming Chocolate Recipes for the Sweet-Tooth's

If you are born a sweet tooth, then you will surely adore this warm Coconut Hot Chocolate drink! Instead of putting milk on your warm chocolate drink, you can put coconut milk instead. Nothing could taste better than this. It actually tastes like chocolate daiquiri!

Chile Hot Chocolate Beverage
But if you are fonder of eating spicy food and drinking spiced-up beverages than drinking and eating sweets, well, the Chile Hot Chocolate beverage is the right warm chocolate beverage for you! Just add up a little of cayenne, about half a teaspoon, to get the kind of kick in the taste you want. Rest assured the spice will never overpower the sweet taste of the chocolate giving you that tangy and delightfully sweet flavour till the last drop!

Double Anise Hot Chocolate Drink

Or you can also try the Double Anise Hot Chocolate if you still want to keep that spicy tang on your drink! Don't get surprised though if you get too buffed up about it, everyone else who tried this warm chocolate drink got addicted and never got off the hook! The sweetness of the licorice combined with the bitter taste of star anise is actually the culprit why so many fall into the pit of addiction to this drink!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate Drink

For those who like their chocolate drink minty, get a hold of the Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink where chocolate is blended with compressed peppermint candies for the holiday seasons!

Caramel Hot Chocolate Drink

And last of all, for kids who just adore chocolate drinks, energy drinks, as they call them.

Let them try the delightfully sweet Caramel Hot Chocolate drink. This caramel hot chocolate drink is a must for everyone who wants to feel like a kid once again! Because these heart-warming chocolate drinks just taste so great, they will undoubtedly leave an sweet indelible etch on the history of chocolates!
